CollegeTown Development—and our affiliate, ConoverBond— have long
utilized public-private partnerships to develop classroom facilities, student
housing solutions, and other academic projects. These developments have included
the Spokane Community College Biotech Academy, Spokane Public School District’s
Informational Technology Academy, and 130,000 square feet of downtown Spokane
classroom space.
Most significantly, CollegeTown Development has, since 2001, partnered with
schools to create unique “urban living centers.” These mixed-use
projects have sought to not only provide creative solutions to the challenge
of student housing, but also bolster local economies by attracting college-orientated
businesses and students to downtown locations. Our projects distinguish themselves
because they incorporate four key characteristics:
- Strong relationship with the college or university
- Innovative, efficient design and construction
- Economic impact through the introduction of a retail component
- Active presence in the community
Because of our commitment to these principles, our projects have won numerous
accolades, including the “Best Economic Restructuring Story Award,”
bestowed on us by the State of Washington for our work with Eastern Washington
University and the City of Cheney.
